Does Your Water Smell Like it Needs a Bath?

If your water has a strange taste or smell you may need to change your water filter. Water filters have suggested times for when they should be changed out but the manuals can really only provide guidelines based on variables. If you have water that has issues, your water filter is not going to last as long as a home with a water treatment system or that has inherently good water.....

Washer Washer!

Ever have to wash your washer? Front load washers are highly efficient but they are also locked up tight to prevent leaks since the door is constantly exposed to the water in the drum. That being said, they have to be completely air and water tight making them a breeding ground if you leave them locked up in between loads and don’t let the moisture dry out. Continuous Oven Cleaning

“Continuous cleaning” ovens are coated with a texture layer that oxidizes any food that gets on the insides of the oven. When this surface is heated from the oven, anything that is on it will cook and break off. These ovens are literally self-cleaning. If something spills while you’re putting something in (as long as the oven isn’t on) you can wipe it off with a damp cloth. Most importantly, don’t ever scrape the inside of these ovens with anything as it will break off the texture of the surface and the self-cleaning aspect of the oven will be damaged.

The racks can be removed from time to time to be cleaned by hand. The glass surfaces can be cleaned with glass wipes and any stainless on the oven can be polished with a metal polish. Never use oven cleaners on the inside surface of a continuous oven since it can clog the textured surface and cause the self-cleaning to fail. Make sure you don’t use any abrasive cleaners or scouring pads either.
